A Most Curious Delivery
To you, who received a curious letter,
Welcome to the Storm Post Office. This letter from London, 1966, writes its title in round bubble lettering over a deep teal underprint. Coral target rings are vivid but disciplined; a small dog’s silhouette peeks out from behind an illustration of a trophy; the stamps run in rows like drumbeats, black-and-white stripes make your eyes swim, and a typewritten exhibit tag is pinned to the corner.
At the moment she shot up tall, Alice was so surprised that she forgot how to speak good English, and all she could cry was: “Curiouser and curiouser!” — Lewis Carroll, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland (1865)
This letter is the same: where it came from and where it goes are both a little strange. But the only rule here is that a letter counts once it arrives. If you write back, a touch of strangeness is welcome.
Yours, most curiously
