The Golden Garden

To you, entering the garden,

Welcome to the Storm Post Office. This letter is posted from inside a box in 1913, and in the box grows a garden. The English title curls like a whiplash into branches of mistletoe; the paper is warm cream handmade stock, edged with fine lithographed leaves and seedpods, and a small tiger-stripe emblem is pressed lightly into it. The gold in this letter is afternoon sunlight, resting on leaves.

The poet who wrote about the tiger began like this: "Tyger Tyger, burning bright, / In the forests of the night." — William Blake, The Tyger (1794)

Here, the gold will warm your hands. If you are tired, sit in this garden a while; rain on the leaves does no harm. When you want to write, write to us.

With sunlight,

Storm Post Office
